Rammagerðin/Iceland Gift Store was established in 1940 and is one of the oldest gift stores in Iceland. In the beginning the mainstay of the business was framing and frame making, as the Icelandic name Rammagerðin implies. In 1949 the company started selling Icelandic designs and woolens for those buying gifts for relatives abroad.
- Myndlistaskólinn í Reykjavík The Reykjavík School of Visual Arts, founded in 1947, is a non-profit organisation operated by artists and designers. An atmosphere of flow and exchange between departments is encouraged and works by students in different age groups are continually on show in the school building.

Leadersheep are a unique strain within the Icelandic breed that has outstanding behavioral abilities and intelligence. they've been an integral part of Iceland's sheep farming since the settlement.
